Product Roadmap

Decision-Making Criteria on New Features

  • 90% of the product scope will come from the product team.
  • Listen to customer feedback.
  • Prioritize new features based on who is asking for them, not just how frequently they are asked.
  • Consider discounting feedback from people who are not using the product today. Weight requests of existing users higher than potential users, potential users frequently ask for things that are a low priority when they are using it.
  • Weight between the effort to make things vs. how people value the features (bang for the buck).
  • Sales requests are important but will not make up a significant amount of feature development. Product and sales should have a list of the 10 most important requests that they revisit every quarter.
